NEW YEAR - NEW TEAM PROJECT?
As we wrap up 2016, are you already looking ahead to the projects on the 2017 calendar? Are you launching a major initiative? Are you putting resources toward a technology advancement? Will you be pulling together business staff, technology experts, and consultants to make a project work?
As a management consultant, I see this “spin up”every year--the latest initiative with large (but not always completely clear) business goals and objectives. The standard steps are tackled: forming a team, building a charter, establish a budget, understand the deadline, and bake in key milestones.
How many times have those initial plans held? How often does a project kick off and as soon as everyone digs in you find there is more to this challenge? How long does it take for everyone to articulate that all dots are not connected and the schedule is more like a faint dream?
Wouldn’t it be nice to kick off a project with a team strong and open in their communication? Would it be a dream to have the team generate 13 months of productivity in the 12 months of 2017? Contact me and learn more about my Rapid Start TeamBuilding program. Make your 2017 project buck the trend of projects in your organization.
