ARE YOU IN YOUR ZONE?

ARE YOU IN YOUR ZONE?

In helping others learn about their communication strengths we begin to focus on what they are doing in the “now” - their present day communication habits versus what they do best. It is an interesting conversation and always requires context. Is an introvert pushing themselves into extroversion in a temporary situation? Is this a longer-term necessary switch which is making them uncomfortable?

Often, people realize they can temporarily stretch themselves out of their communication comfort zone for the sake of a project, a change at work, or as a way to rally to get things done. But the deeper question comes up when they do not see an end to this stretch and stress, anxiety and exhaustion are creeping in. The discussion then turns to what they are doing, is it really what they really want to be doing? Is there a way to do what they enjoy and help cover the areas that are too much of a prolonged stretch?

Interestingly, something as straightforward as communication style can really help with understanding of who you are, how you communicate best and whether what you are doing now is a good fit.

Not sure if what you are doing is really right for you? Let’s take a look. Contact me for a no-obligation call.
